The Drawback of Conventional Teachers
Most professionals in the teaching field have never experienced the practical side of education in real jobs or businesses. They were once students who memorized lessons, wrote exams, passed them, and eventually returned to teach the next generation and continuing the same cycle. Only a few, who were either naturally curious or properly guided by their parents or mentors, manage to truly succeed in their careers. Meanwhile, a large number of people in India struggle with unemployment simply because no one ever taught them how to find the right job, start a business, or turn a skill or hobby into a meaningful career.
At Practical Learning School (PLS), we are here to break this cycle and redefine what real education means.
How we are different ?
We choose not to mention the names of our founders because our intent is not to highlight their achievements or portray them as heroes. We believe these are basic human traits that every child can develop with the right guidance and environment. Our goal is to make such accomplishments a common standard for all students, removing the need for comparison or competition among them.
Our Educational Achievements
The founding members of Practical Learning School (PLS) also grew up within the same traditional cycle of teaching and learning described above. However, we chose to take a different path. We were fortunate to have a few exceptional professors (rare of the rarest) who emphasized practical understanding from textbooks instead of rote memorization from exam-oriented guides. Their guidance inspired us to rethink education and build a system rooted in real-world learning.
We were fortunate to have parents who never pressured us to chase ranks or grades. Instead, they gave us the freedom to truly understand our subjects and learn without stress. One of our founding members is a perfect example of this approach. He once arrived fifteen minutes late for a Social Studies board exam (as he couldn’t wake up in the morning because of ill health) and still scored 90 out of 100. The same pattern continued in 11th and 12th standards, where he secured 71 and 69 out of 75 in Mathematics without any last-minute preparation.
Though he achieved average 1st class marks in Engineering, he stood class 1st in Practical Examinations because of his practical knowledge & implementation. Later, he completed his MBA with first-class results, often studying just an hour before exams, not out of negligence, but because he had already mastered the concepts through understanding, not memorization. The most remarkable part? He was later invited as a guest lecturer for his own batch and juniors in two subjects, thanks to his deep practical grasp of the topics.
Another founding member of Practical Learning School (PLS) suffered from severe asthma during childhood, which often prevented her from attending school regularly. However, her parents homeschooled her using a practical and concept-based approach to learning. She had the remarkable ability to read a book once and grasp the concepts completely. Though her family and friends rarely saw her studying, she consistently ranked 2nd or 3rd in a class of 60 students whenever she appeared for exams.
Our Career Achievements
Thanks to our foundation in practical learning, our careers have been both successful and impactful, often placing us in leadership and decision-making roles from an early age. We were entrusted with greater responsibilities, earned higher rewards, and gained the complete confidence of our clients through our commitment to quality and excellence. Our founding members come from Information Technology and Engineering backgrounds, with experience in developing solutions across diverse sectors including Software, Web, and Mobile Applications; Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, and Telecommunication Engineering; Medical (Hospitals, Insurance, Diagnostics); Education (Schools, Colleges, and Training Institutes); Banking; Chartered Accountancy; and Law.
Furthermore, we have successfully executed Information Technology and Engineering projects not only across India but also in several international markets, including the United States, Canada, Europe, the Gulf countries, Singapore, Japan, and Australia. This global exposure has provided us with valuable insights into diverse educational systems, cultural traditions, and business practices, enriching our understanding of how learning and innovation are nurtured around the world.
